			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>A large number of people observe the steady increase in fat around their midsection as they start to age.  This is because your metabolism starts to slow down when you age and fat tends to shift to the abdominal people.  But people young and old, both men and women, have to deal with an unsightly belly.  Excess belly fat is not only ugly to look at, but it is also a major health risk.  Problems like heart disease and diabetes typically occur due to the fact of there being excess fat in your body&#8217;s abdominal cavity, which contains many important organs.  But with the right fitness plan and abdominal exercises, these problems can be eliminated.</p>
<p>Within this article, you will read about a few abdominal exercises and equipment that you can utilize at various workout facilities and gyms.  There is a wide range of equipment available and each machine targets a specific set of abdominal muscles. A machine that I am very fond of is called the <a href="http://www.absrocketpro.com" target="_blank">Ab Rocket</a> trainer. But there are other excellent ab equipment out there.  So take a look at these pieces of equipment to see which ones will likely give you the best results.</p>
<p>1. The bicycle maneuver.  The bicycle exercise functions by having you lie flat on your back while you keep your knees bent at a 45 degree angle with your chest.  Reach your elbow up to the opposite knee then switch elbows and do the same thing.  Your legs should be pedeling just like you are riding a bicycle, while your elbows move in a similar motion, alternating and crossing to the opposite knee.  This exercise will tone the sides of your abs and you should see your waistline shrink if you perform this exercise often. There is also a <a href="http://hubpages.com/hub/sit-up-machine" target="_blank">situp machine</a> that will help you perform this exercise more effectively.</p>
<p>2. The fitness ball.  This is another alternative to sit up crunches.  It is the same motion as a simple crunch or sit up, but your results will be amplified.  Even just sitting on the ball works your abs because they have to use muscles for balance and support.  Keep your feet apart, rest your back on the ball, and raise and lower your trunk.  You should be able to feel your abs working with just a few movements!</p>
<p>3. The Roman chair.  This piece of exercise equipment requires you to hang with your back straight and forearms rested parallel on the <a href="http://situpmachine.ning.com" target="_blank">sit up machine</a>.  You simple raise your knees upward to your chest them bring them back down again.  It may sound simple enough, but this exercise is difficult for most people since it greatly works the lower abs.</p>
<p>There are many more abdominal exercises and equipment so make sure you try as many as possible to see which ones are the best for you.  Try a few different machines so your entire abdominal region will be worked.  Adding abdominal exercises to a lifestyle with healthy eating and cardio aerobics will guarantee a smaller mid-section!</p>

<p>The calorie shifting methos of fat loss has gained a great deal of popularity in the last few years. It is founded on the principle that your metabloism can be &#8220;tricked&#8221; by dining from different food groups in a particular pattern. One meal may provide protein and fat only, the next may be almost exclusively carbohydrates.</p>
<p>This is certainly healthier than any diet which excludes a food group entirely, like the Atkins Diet. Though you may exclude carbohydrates in one meal and fat in the next, you still get a good overall balance.</p>
<p>Supporters of the <a target="_blank" href="http://jl1954.4idiots.hop.clickbank.net?page=99000/?tid=man">calorie shifting method</a> claim that this dietary rotation forces the body to burn fat a faster rate than conventional diets. On the other hand, the conventional diet folks say that you can&#8217;t burn more than two and a half pounds of fat per week, and that if you lose more weight than that, you are burning lean muscle tissue. But there is no doubt that the calorie shifting method has some very <strong>alluring features</strong>.</p>
<ul>
<li>You can eat foods, in quantity, that you would never dream of on a regular weight loss program. One meal may consist of bacon strips and ham slices, for example.</li>
<li>You can eat until you feel satisfied, just don&#8217;t overstuff. Use your good common sense.</li>

<li>You get a break after each rotation where you can eat whatever you want for a few days.</li>

<p><strong>The down side</strong>:</p>

<li>Though the regimen has a degree of versatility in some ways, it is very rigid in others. You have to eat a certain number of meals per day, and snacks are not encouraged.</li>
<li>Having the right food items on hand for the next few days does take a certain amount of planning.</li>
<li>In some occupations, it may be hard to fit into the workday.</li>
<li>It may be very difficult to reconcile your diet plan meals to social events. However, if you schedule your dieting period so that your cheat days fall on a weekend, you should be able to work that out.</li>
</ul>
<p>One last point that I would like to make is that, though you can lose weight quickly without exercise on this program, I don&#8217;t recommend that course. Not only is exercise necessary for a healthy heart, it is also vital for good muscle tone. Without that you aren&#8217;t going to look fantastic in your bathing suit, no matter how much weight you lose!</p>
<p>In summary, <a target="_blank" href="http://burnthatfatnow.com/calorieshifting">calorie shifting</a>, like any other fat loss plan, has it&#8217;s ups and downs. It is up to each individual to determine what works best for their situation.</p>

<p>Many women believe that the only way to tone flabby arms or any other part of their bodies is to work out for hours in the gym every week. Not only is this not possible for women who are holding down jobs, looking after children and running a home, it is totally unnecessary. We would all like to have beautifully toned arms and bodies, but not at the expense of our family and daily life.</p>
<p>You will be happy to know that you don&#39;t need to work out for hours in order to get a toned and sexy body. Here we will bust apart three of the most commonly held myths about building muscle.</p>
<p> <strong>Mistake No. 1 &#45; Longer workout sessions are more beneficial<br /></strong> Even working out for more than an hour can start to have an adverse effect on the body. This is because too much exercise can cause problems such as injuries, loss of muscle tone and increase stress on the body. You can then star feeling exhausted, anxious and lethargic.</p>
<p>The answer is to simply keep your workouts short, but intense. An intensive workout for 20 minutes is just as effective. Keep your intensity high for the whole 20 minutes and try and get a sweat going within the first 5 minutes. Everyone can find 20 minutes out of their day to exercise.</p>
<p><strong>Mistake No. 2 – Using weights will make you look bulky</strong><br /> There are many women who work out with heavy weights and they still look lean and toned. They certainly do not look like a female version of ArnoldSchwarzenneger! It is absolute nonsense that lifting weights will increase bulk.</p>
<p>It would be a mistake to not use any weights as this will stop you from building muscle, raising metabolism and burning calories efficiently. The solution is to lift weights that are as heavy as you can handle for between 6&#45;12 repetitions only. You can only develop lean and sculpted arms by using heavy weights.</p>
<p> <strong>Mistake No. 3 – low or medium intensity workouts are better</strong></p>
<p>When you work out with heavy weights at high intensity, you force your body to increase the amount of calories it burns during your workout, which last for the rest of the day. Imagine how great it could be burning calories even whilst sitting in front of the TV or computer. This is known as the after&#45;burn effect. This certainly doesn&#39;t happen with low or medium intensity workouts.</p>
<p>It only takes a 20 minute high intensity workout for you to get the after&#45;burn, so make every minute count. Lift weights that are as heavy as you can manage safely for 6&#45;12 repetitions. To keep up the intensity, do at least two minutes of skipping and have a brief rest period between repetitions.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p><strong>Okay,</strong> you’ve decided that you want to burn fat and build muscle. Congratulations, that is a noble endeavor! Many people make that decision, but soon end the quest in despair. They did not achieve the results that they envisioned, and gave up, disappointed and disillusioned. What went wrong?</p>
<p><strong>In a nutshell</strong>, ignorance is the culprit. We live in a fast-paced society, and time for any project is allotted by the minute.  Americans are impatient, and though that is a big part of what made us a great nation, sometimes it’s been our downfall as well. When we decide on a course of action, we want to start TODAY, whether we know what we’re doing or not.  I’m well known for “leaping before looking” myself! Many  people read an article or two and feel they are ready to jump off into “Burn Fat, Build Muscle” wonderland. It all appears to be a matter of logic and common sense, but in reality, it is a little more complicated than that. Since you don’t have time to read tomes on the subject before beginning the process, here are a few facts to help you get started off on the right foot. You can learn more from a <a target="_blank" href="http://burnthatfatnow.com/burnfat">reliable source</a> as you go.</p>
<ol>
<li><strong>You can&#8217;t build new muscle and burn fat at the same time</strong>. Based on your “maintenance” caloric requirements, you have to be in a calorie deficient state to burn fat. You have to be in a calorie surplus state to build muscle. You can firm and strengthen the muscles that you have while losing weight, but you cannot enlarge them.</li>
<li>If you want to build muscle, it is recommended that you obtain the services of a personal trainer, or at the very least purchase an <a target="_blank" href="http://jl1954.burnthefat.hop.clickbank.net/?tid=myart">authoritative book</a> on the subject. You will have to eat a lot of food, but just eating all you can stand won’t work. When Michael Phelps was training for the Olympic swimming events, he was consuming 12,000 calories per day. That ’s six times the caloric intake of the average person! Of course, he was expending as much as he was taking in, but building bigger, stronger muscles in the process.</li>
<li>Once you have gained the new muscle mass you desire, then you need to go on a calorie deficient diet to burn off excess body fat. There are two schools of thought on this, and it depends somewhat on how fast you want to gain muscle: One, you use a combination of resistance and cardiovascular exercises so that you don’t put on too much fat while building muscle; Two, you build muscle faster by gaining fat along with it, then burn off the fat later. Be aware that the &#8221;burn off the fat later&#8221; method requires a lot of discipline. Once you have built the muscle structure that you have dreamed about, it may be hard to motivate yourself to burn fat. </li>
</ol>
<p><strong>Are you unhappy with your body</strong> in it’s present state? Do you see yourself with bulging biceps and ripped abs? Being soft and flabby can result in lack of confidence. You may feel that you do not get the respect that you deserve, and you may be concerned about how you look in the eyes of the opposite gender. Most of all, your physical state affects the way you look at yourself. There is a way to bring out the real you, the attractive, confident person that you know yourself to be. There are foods, however, that you can eat that will help you do more than that. There are foods that help you burn fat.</p>
<p> Now, some of these aren&#8217;t foods that burn fat themselves but they are incredibly beneficial in helping get rid of it. Some increase your metabolism which is needed to help burn more fat all day. These are just a few examples of food that will not just help you lose weight fast, but are foods that burn fat and lose weight.<span id="more-192"></span></p>
<p> Apples- Increases blood sugar levels gradually and safely. Apples will help you feel full and it also has a good amount of fiber that helps flush your system. Apples have in them malic acid which has fat burning qualities.</p>
<p> Apple Cider Vinegar- Good for use as a salad dressing. It is a diuretic (helps increase urine flow and flush out kidneys) but also the fermentation that took place to make the vinegar causes certain things to happen which will not only scrub your cells, but will also help eliminate fat deposits.</p>
<p> Asparagus- Has a natural fluid flushing quality (helps increase urine flow and lowers the chances of getting kidney stones by flushing out the kidneys). The alkaloids in asparagus also helps break down fat and also breaks up oxalic acid that allows fat cells to bond to each other. Asparagus is one of the best foods that burn fat and is also good with a grilled steak.</p>
<p> Cabbage- Has high levels of sulfur and iodine that help to clean waste material out of the body.&nbsp; It works especially well at cleaning the mucous membranes in the stomach and intestines. This is one of the best foods that burn belly fat.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>   <img src="http://treadthis.com/exercise-busy-schedule.bmp" alt="exercise cartoon" width="304" height="248" align="left" />As we looked at yesterday, it is possible to burn fat and gain muscle but doing both at the same time to the degree that you might want, may be difficult. You still have to decide which is more important to you, to burn fat or to gain muscle. If you have decided that as far as your diet is concerned that you want to burn fat then your exercise plan has to mirror that. You are eating to make your workout plan more productive. The two work together.</p>
<p> There are some who believe that you should work first on burning the fat and then, once you have burned all your fat then you can start concentrating on gaining muscle.There is no reason that you should decide to do one without doing the other. Both can be done at the same time. You just need to find the balance in your workout that will help you accomplish that. Some will say that you can just work on building muscle because your fat will turn into muscle. Do not believe that. Fat can not be turned into muscle. They are two very different things made up of different materials. Just because you lost five pounds of fat but gained five pounds of muscle does not mean that one turned into another. Your body is transforming itself but fat isn&#8217;t being transformed into muscle.<span id="more-69"></span></p>
<p> One very important reason that you should work to both gain muscle and burn fat is that the more muscle you have, the more calories are burned. Muscle burns calories just by being there. Your body burns calories whether you are being active or not. Just sitting in your chair reading for two hours, if you are around 200 pounds (91kgs), you are going to be burning about 250 calories. If you sleep 8 hours at night you lose more than 675 calories. The more muscle you have, the more calories will be burned doing nothing. Just think of how many more calories you will burn by actually working out.</p>
<p> You will want to have a mixture of anaerobic and aerobic exercise in your workout regimen. To help you understand the difference in the two, anaerobic means without oxygen aerobic means with oxygen. Anaerobic workouts involve short powerful movements (like with weightlifting) that increases power and muscle and are done for short periods of time. Aerobic involves less stressful movements but keeps them up for longer periods of time and require a lot more oxygen to keep the exercise going.</p>
<p> If you have decided that it is more important to burn fat then you need to be focusing more on aerobic activity. Fat needs oxygen to burn. The more muscle you have, however, causes more calories to burn. If it is more important for you to lose fat then you need to be concentrating more on aerobic activity, spend 60% of your workout time concentrating on this and the rest of the time on anaerobic exercises. When you go to the gym or work out at home, spend 30-40 minutes on the treadmill or on some other machine to help you get a lot a lot of oxygen into your blood. This will be burning the fat off but it will not be developing muscle. You will also be using energy you have stored doing this that you would need for weightlifting and muscle building.</p>
<p> If your main goal is to build muscle then spend 75% of your workout time focusing in on anaerobic exercises and then the other 25% on aerobic activity. For 10-15 minutes get on the treadmill, cycle or stair climber or walk or whatever you prefer. This will not only help burn a little bit of fat but it will also get your body warmed up. After you have done this then move on to the main event where you gain muscle, the weight lifting. Remember that 75% of the fuel you use doing anaerobic activity comes from carbohydrates. It is best to make sure that you have gotten a good supply of it prior to the workout. Eating some slow burning carbs, such as rice or pasta, will help you have the energy you need to make the workout as productive as possible.</p>
<p> Break your workouts up so that each muscle group has a day to recover before you work it again. Monday work out your back. Tuesday focus in on your chest, biceps, and abs. On Wednesday concentrate on your legs. When Thursday comes then workout your delts and triceps. Let Friday be the day that you workout all major muscle groups. If there are some areas that need special attention and aren&#8217;t developing as you like then concentrate on that. Make sure that you do different exercises Friday than you did during the early part of the week. This will help address certain muscles that were neglected during your previous workouts.</p>
