Proof to Me that Muscle Burns Fat
About 7 years ago, I reached the heaviest weight of my life. 99kgs (or 218lbs). That’s about 10kg (22lbs) heavier than I am now. I was drinking at least two litres (over half a gallon) (from now on, I’m sticking to Kilos and Litres) of coke a day while at the same time, doing no physical activity. I felt like crap.
For 7 months I walked between 4 and 12 Kilometres (2.5 and 7.5 miles) a day around a 4 km park path near my home. It took around 30 mins to do a lap. The first few times, I nearly died. I worked up a sweat, my legs killed me and I got out of breath very quickly but I kept it up.
It would have been lucky if I lost 2 kgs in that 7 months. It became very easy quite quickly though. I was soon walking as fast as I could, even powering up each hill I came to. I began to enjoy those walks and look forward to them. I was becoming fit!
After 7 months of walking, I did a couple of Swedish massage courses and lost interest in the walking. Every day for 2 hours after work, I’d massage someone. I soon built a large clientelle. Well, I wasn’t charging.
Because every night after work I’d have to rush home, shower, change and either get ready to massage or pack every up and go out to massage, I never had an evening meal.
In three months I lost 20 kgs. I put this down to all the walking I had done for 7 months, the two hours of massage I did a day and the no eating, most nights, of an evening meal.
