Muscle Building Smoothies – Don’t Use Too Much Coffee
I can give you a good tip if you are thinking about, or trying, new recipes for your muscle building smoothies. (2 tips, if you count ‘don’t make it too thick or you’ll burn your blender out’).
Last week, I found a few good smoothy recipes. One of them in particular caught my eye because I had all the ingredients except for one…… caffeine powder or tablets. That didn’t matter because I had a couple of kilos of ground coffee in the fridge.
Not wanting to blow up my blender again, I decided to make my smoothie (to freeze) very moist, using lots of juice and fruit. I did four jugs full then tipped it all into a very large saucepan so I could mix in all the dry ingredients by hand.
Not being one of those guys who measure ingredients, when it came to adding the coffee, I just tipped some in. Probably a large cup. Or maybe more…….
Take it from me…… it was TOO MUCH !!
I drink a LOT of coffee but I have never had the shakes before, like I had after my first big serving of that smoothie. I must admit though, I had a good workout after it.
