While you don&#8217;t have to have the fancy steam rooms or whirlpool (although that&#8217;s extremely nice after a tough workout.) a home gym has certain components necessary for anyone&#8217;s workout.&nbsp; The quality and type of equipment will vary according to the focus of the workout and the final desired results.</p>
<p><strong>The list below is the necessary items for traditional home gyms.</strong></p>
<p>1. <span style="text-decoration: underline;">Dumbbells</span> or adjustable dumbbells are important whether you&#8217;re working out to improve your physic for competition, are a female that simply wants a stronger body or protection from osteoporosis. Dumbbells are useful for a range of different exercises and tend to produce the best results for building muscles in the arms and upper torso. You can purchase fixed weight dumbbells or ones that have adjustable weights. Even though the fixed weight varieties are the most convenient, you need a number of different sizes of dumbbells if you expect to have a complete workout over a long period.</p>
<p>2. <span style="text-decoration: underline;">Barbells</span> are often the second piece of equipment most people purchase for home workouts. There&#8217;s a reason for this, they&#8217;re very important. While dumbbells offer good upper body exercise, there&#8217;s a wider range of muscle groups you can work with barbells. Of course, many people use a stationery bike or treadmill for their cardio workout, the simple act of jumping rope often provides just as good a workout, if not better. The cost of this piece of home gym exercise equipment should please even the people on the most limited budget.</p>
<p>4.&nbsp; Another relatively inexpensive and often overlooked piece of gym equipment is the <span style="text-decoration: underline;">exercise bench</span>. When you&#8217;re purchasing an exercise bench, don&#8217;t skimp on quality. While a simple weight bench might be less expensive, consider getting a more versatile one that offers options such as a preacher curl or leg extensions or curls. The additional money will save you funds in the long run by providing for more exercise options. If the bench has an optional pull down bar, you have half a gym in one piece of equipment.</p>
<p>5. <span style="text-decoration: underline;">A stability ball</span> isn&#8217;t the first thing most men think of when they hear the word exercise equipment but it is another inexpensive item that is just now receiving recognition for all the benefits it provides. You don&#8217;t have sink a fortune into a stability ball, even if you purchase the top of the line. With a stability ball exercise routine, you&#8217;ll use many additional muscles in the abdominal area to stabilize and balance yourself.</p>
<p>The body&#8217;s alignment improves as you use it because, no matter how deep the muscle in the back or abdomen, you&#8217;ll use it when you exercise using the stability ball. It&#8217;s great for abs and increases not only muscle strength but also endurance and tone. Not only is the stability ball good for exercising, and of course losing weight with exercise, it&#8217;s the perfect way to warm up and do stretching exercise before a workout.</p>
<p>6. <span style="text-decoration: underline;">A quality floor pad</span> for yoga or flexibility training is also important. While you can use a mat for the floor or even a blanket, quality workout pads for the floor are easy to store and use and you&#8217;ll find that you&#8217;ll use them for other types of exercise as well. &nbsp;</p>
<p>No matter what your preferences for a workout, you should have equipment that gives you a cardio workout, strength training, balance training and flexibility training. Having equipment that helps guide you through a workout, such as a video or DVD is a plus.</p>
<p>When you break down the equipment according to the type if workout you&#8217;ll need a minimum of four pieces of equipment, one for each type of workout. This is a more non-traditional gym but created for a complete workout of the body. It&#8217;s easiest, therefore, to list the workout and then put the selections available under each area.</p>
<p>First on the list is the type of training you use the equipment for and then the various types of equipment used for that training follows it. You can choose more than one piece from each group, rather like selecting from a menu at a restaurant, but you should have one piece from every type of training, even if it&#8217;s as simple as a jump rope.</p>
<p><strong>Cardio Training</strong>- This training is for overall body conditioning and improving the cardiovascular system. Cardio training includes equipment as expensive as electric treadmills to a stepping machine, step block, aerobic videos or jump rope. The type of equipment can run as high as $500 or more or even under $10.</p>
<p><strong>Strength Training</strong>- Strength training is what most men traditionally think of when they consider gym equipment. It builds muscles and strength and reduces the risk of osteoporosis in women. The adjustable weight training benches, suspension resistance trainers are pieces of equipment used for strength training. Lower end cost equipment includes hand weights, resistance bands and low-end benches.</p>
<p><strong>Balance Training</strong>- This type of training improves core muscles, develops muscle stamina, posture and encourages more coordination between muscle groups while it improves balance. While most equipment runs under $150 dollars, higher end pieces include burst-resistant stability balls, soft foam exercise pads, wobble boards and gel based balance beams. Lower cost items are more inexpensive stability balls that aren&#8217;t burst resistant, balance domes and disc pillows.</p>
<p><strong>Flexibility Training</strong>- Increased muscle flexibility keeps you younger by giving you better muscle tone, increasing blood circulation and helps you to have a safer workout in other training areas. Simple stretching reduces the risk of muscle injury. Some higher cost items for flexibility training include stretch machines and Pilates machines. You can get lower cost items, often under $50 such as slant boards, foam rollers, mats with towels and stretching bands. Using a yoga exercise video or other video with stretching exercises are also options.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Do you really like going to the local gym everyday?  Now seriously, be truthful about this one.  Personally I hate going to the gymnasium.  It&#8217;s plain and simply a bother for me.  It&#8217;s just one more thing that I must try and squeeze into my day.  On the other hand, I&#8217;m not opposed to purchasing gym equipment.  I usually prefer to just own the stuff.  This way I&#8217;m able to have instant access to it whenever I please.  Trust me ; the convenience makes a whole lot of difference.  Not merely will owning gym hardware make it simpler, but it may actually inspire you to exercise more often.  I know that it has actually had this effect on me. </p>
<p> Allow me to give you my personal diatribe about owning gymnasium gear.  These are the explanations I hate driving to our local YMCA.  First off, I should drive there.  This is so time-consuming.  You basically have to find some workout cloths, put them on, and then drive all the way to the gym.  Oh, and do not forget that you are going to have to drive all the way back home too.  This is a waste of your day.  How faster could you&#8217;re employed out if you had your own gym appliances in your house?  Then there&#8217;s the gas issue.  I don&#8217;t want to pay for gas that is&#8217;s required for driving to the gymnasium 5 days each week.  This is a waste of money.  Also, you&#8217;ve got to share the gymnasium apparatus with everyone.  What if somebody is using the machine you wish to use?  That stinks!  Plus their sweat is going to be all over it when you plop down on it.  Yuck!  These are valid reasons for not needing to go to the gymnasium.  These reasons are why I decided to buy my own gym hardware.  It&#8217;s not as expensive as some folks may think.  What is it that you actually use at the gym?  Are you one of those people who just run on the treadmill?  Then purchase a treadmill!  I love to do curls, bench press, jump rope, and box.  I can attain all of this at home.  In cost me about four hundred USD to get all of the gymnasium hardware I  need.  How much are you paying every single month?  I essentially paid four hundred greenbacks for a whole life membership.  Beat that! </p>
