Boost Muscle Growth with Turbulence Training
I’ve gone back and read a lot of my Turbulence Training PDFs. I thought I could just get in there and do my own thing with regard to working out.
Most of the time lately, I’ve been concentrating on walking on the treadmill and using weights to build my biceps. Believe it or not, I can really notice a difference when I flex my arm. Everyone else in the house is getting sick of feeling my muscles, so I’d better start working on all the others as well.
In turbulence Training, the idea is to stress the muscles, which causes them to have to work very hard (burning calories) to return your body to normal. I love the idea of this method because it means I have to spend less time working out and it has the potential to kick-start stubborn fat-loss.
One of the problems in working out to build muscle and lose weight is that your body quickly adapts to any particular workout schedule. Your muscles need variety or muscle gain and/or fat loss will slow down. Regularly changing your training schedule will cause your body to adapt and use more energy (fat) while getting used to it.
That’s part of what I’m working on now. I’ve done push-ups (like in the pic) using an exercise ball as well as just on the ground normally. I’m doing chin-ups while lifting my legs as far as I can at the same time. I’m actually looking forward to the day when I can do a full chin-up and at least 10 push-ups. That’ll give me heaps of incentive to keep going.
Following the beginner’s program in Turbulence Training is going to make sure that I vary my workouts at the correct rate. It also gives me lots of ideas (with pictures) of many different exercises/workouts. I’m afraid I don’t have a good enough imagination or the knowledge to vary workouts enough to not get bored.
This excerp from the Turbulence Training for beginners PDF explains it all. Resistance training and interval training increase your metabolism far more than aerobic exercise. Combined, resistance and interval training result in the greatest amount of turbulence to your body, and therefore, more fat loss!
