growmymuscles.com is dedicated to providing quality information on the subject of Growing Muscles and in particular, on the subject of growing muscles at a more mature age. I will include helpful reviews, information, tips and much more.

My name is Rob. I’m 54, about 10kg overweight, and have receding hair. Dammit!  I live in Sydney, Australia.

Most of my life, I’ve been thin and could eat anything I liked, in any quantities I liked.  So I did!

Now I’m getting older and my weight has snuck up very slowly over the last ten years or so.  Mainly on my stomach and chest.

My eyes are changing, so that I have to keep a pair of magnifying glasses next to my computer, next to the bed and in the loo.  So far, I can still tell the difference between the bottles of shampoo and conditioner.

If your eyes are like mine and the print on this page (or any other page) is a bit small to read comfortably, try clicking anywhere on the page then hold the control key down while you roll the wheel on the mouse.  Works for me!

I’m getting bags under my eyes.

I snore…. apparently.  I don’t know if I believe this.

I started to research health and fitness, which led me to start this site.

I have rows and rows of weightloss, diet, medical, massage and fitness books.  Many of which I’ve read. 

I believe I have Syndrome-X.  Which is another term for having been sedentary, eating too much of the wrong food and drinking too much coke, for too long.  In other words, either diabetic or pre-diabetic.

In my "gym" (which is just a spare room) I have a treadmill, an exercise bike, some weights and a few other bits and pieces of essential equipment.  Many of which I’ve used.

My goals are to:

1. Overcome my food temptations…. late night snacking….  eating too much….  eating wrong foods (I love a chunky beef pie with barbeque sauce – or two)….   eating too fast.

2. Lose my excess weight (fat) especially off my gut.

3. Build muscle and get fit…  be able to do at least one chin-up….  be able to do handstands without being up against a wall…  be able to skip.  That rope WILL NOT go under my feet more than once in a row.

4. Get my own willpower under control.

5. Build a great growmymuscles site as I improve my body, mind and knowledge.
