Blending superfoods for muscle growth

A Smoothie For Growing My Muscles Blew Up My Blender

Blender for smoothiesHaving five or six small, good quality meals a day is hard.  Everyone else in my house is a carnivore.  Apart from peas, onion, avocado, lettuce and broccholi, I’m on my own.

To grow my muscles, I’ve been eating fruit, steak, chicken, fish and vegies.

Keeping a supply of fresh fruit and vegetables in the house is difficult because a lot of it is going bad before I have a chance to eat it.  I had a brainwave.

I would make myself some smoothies with all the superfoods in them that I wanted to eat, freeze them and use them as a meal when required.

So I got out the blender that I bought about 6 months ago, and have used twice.  I blended 2 bananas, 2 apples, 2 nectarines,1 peach, 2 cups frozen blueberries, third cup of cocoa nibs, half cup unsweetened cocoa powder, third cup of almond, brazil and cashew paste, half a cup of whey protien, half cup virgin olive oil, an avocado and a third of a cup of green Qi (any green vegie powder would have done).

Anyway, it was getting thicker and thicker….. I started to smell something burning then the blender stopped.  Never to start again.  Looks like I’ll have to make my smoothies a lot thinner.

It tastes like crap but I’m sure it’ll be good for me.  I put it into little tubs that hold about a third of a cup.  It has the consistency of very hard icecream (without it being frozen).  Close to or a bit thicker than molassas.  I use it to replace a couple of meals a day.

I’ve also filled several of those tubs with chilli concarne.  Just plain, with beef mince, tomatoe, kidney beans and onions as the main ingredients.

It’s working so far…. I’m not going hungry and my muscles are growing.
